This small impressionistic painting did not have a frame but, with dark painted sides, it was ready to hang.
This image shows one foggy morning when the quayside was transformed and the Cooley Mountains were veiled by a thick sepia mist. Everything was monotone like an old black and white movie. To show how it felt like I had stepped into a portal, I used a slow process to layer the paint and capture the nostalgic mood. The gentle ripples reflecting the boats depict a hypnotic sense of calmness.
